What "The Materialists" Got Right

I finally saw the film, and I have thoughts.

As a matchmaker, dating coach, and someone who gives dating advice online, I had to see this movie. In fact, I actually need to figure out a way to write off my movie ticket for work purposes, lol. I had heard that it “wasn’t a rom-com” and had of course heard about the “height surgery” thing. What I didn’t realize, was how spot on the movie was going to be when it comes to what men are looking for, and what women are looking for.

I’ve matched tons of couples, and I’ve also coached plenty of women and men. There is a theme in the men that does not change: they want a woman who is fit, and beautiful. And in that order too. Women? Tall and rich. Some people can occasionally be open-minded, but it really comes down to those qualities at the end of the day.
